Moa were a fascinating and diverse group of birds that possess numerous anatomical and biological characteristics that are not found in any other bird species. Coming in many different shapes and sizes, from the agile Upland moa to the hulking Heavy-footed moa, with this video, I hope you learn something new about this remarkable group and gain a greater appreciation for New Zealand's endemic fauna.
Congratulations for a magnificent video. Your have exceeded your self. This is the video I would like to have had as a kid fascinated by the Moa. Wish they had never gone! Wish they would put all resources to investigate whether there are still birds in the high mountains or trying to bring them back from extinction.

Excellent video my dude. Very in depth! Hopefully if cloning develops sufficiently humanity can clone these awesome creatures and start up a viable breeding population so we can have wild populations of these fantastic birds once again. One can dream. Who knows? Maybe we'll live to see it ourselves.
It's absolute rubbish that they were hunted to extinction this is like most history that we have been told, its like the native eagle. There was a plethora of food sources. Maori had various forms of conservation systems by using differing levels of tapu. There are so many lies created by ignorance and one of the biggest is that we burned down whole forests to catch and kill them....absolute tripe. But if you have only university references as your sources then you will be mislead and only have assumptions and these assumptions have created long lines of curriculum based off nothing. Colonialists built their whole premise off of these assumptions and another on is we found NZ by accident and that we jumped into canoes one day and just left Hawaii which isn't where we are from at all it's called Hawiiki Nui a totally different place and it was longer that 800 years ago that Maori arrived once again based off of assumptions . All these assumptions made by people who only saw so called primitive people but only primitive by a narrowed view of what is civilized and on what technology is......Quakademics world wide don't really know much about anything only how great they supposedly are especially in the world of Cosmology which is the father of all sciences and people like Einstein have set the physics world back at least 100 yrs and that's being nice. They still don't know how gravity works let alone how the Pyramids were built and by whom. All they have is theories based from theories like rubbish called the big bang, or black holes none of with has been demonstrated in a lab let alone observed.
