The Baby Dinosaur With Fossilised Organs - Scipionyx

The discovery that this baby dinosaur fossil had preserved large parts of the internal organs for over 110 million years was one of the greatest revelations in recent palaeontology. So what can this amazing fossil tell us about extinct dinosaur biology? I don't know if someone already said it, but the fossil of Milano is just a replica (the real specimen is not in Lombardy and usually is not accessible to the public). Furthermore, according to paleontologist Andrea Cau, the conclusions regarding Scipionyx's parental care are questionable, given that non-avian dinosaur juveniles probably didn't need to be fed by their parents (the fully developed teeth and other characteristic seem to suggest this). Sure are alot of interesting comments. Soft tissue can become preserved as mineral residue that are perfectly anatomical in structure. When scientist found the first feathered dinosaurs in China the specimens had a halo of feather filaments surrounding the skeleton that made some scientist sceptical that it was real. Later research using bird cadavers reproduced the same preservation from soft tissue breakdown creating a halo effect around the skeleton. As for dinosaur skin, it's actually a cast or an impression of the original skin created by the clay matrix lying on the skin during preservation. It's a natural impression of the skin. Dr. Philip J. Currie found a nearly complete skeleton of Gorgosaurus libratus next to the parking lot at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Alberta. Years later a ten year old girl searching the spot found the skin impression of the dinosaur and brought it to the attention of the museum staff, they missed it by inches, if they would have dug a little further. Many soft tissues are preserved as a trace fossil in this way, it can even be soft tissue like that found in T. rex bone marrow. Many people will believe that this proves beyond a question that these fossils are less than 6k old and that's fine based on your beliefs, and some feel that these animals are millions of years old based on geological sedimentation and by geo chemical dating of half life of unstable atomic isotopic elements in the sediments or bone. That's another view. Both do not prove that these fossils are real or fake, however the very fact the these fossil duplicate actual physiological material found in living creatures today, would be a rational conclusion that these are the remains of an actual creature no matter how old you may think it is. Fossil bone is found many times with healed fractures and bone disease or bite mark's from preditors. You can conclude what you wish but it does not in any way disprove their existence as fakes. Many museums now display resin cast of dinosaur fossils simply because of the cost to mount the actual fossil bone versus light resin foam cast cores. I accomplished this myself using that same technique. This also allows scientists to study the actual fossil and the public to view the skeleton on display. Its not a plot to deceive the public. I've recovered thousands of fossil vertebrate specimens from their natural geological formation that I sliced and prepared for cellular examination and all produced cell structure exactly for study. Regardless of anyones religious view these are not placed there to deceive anyone but usually only confuse the uninformed. I'm both a paleontologist and a Christain and find fossil not to be a demonic plot to undermine Gods word. Fossils on a rare occasion have trace element organs and almost all have detailed cell structures if the bone is preserved well enough. Respond with logical reasoning if you wish, in agreement or not, but I will report harrassment and bullying comments and have them removed.
